At the crossroads of Hwy 148 and 83, we are just an hour drive from either Omaha or Des Moines. The city of Anita was first platted in 1869 and incorporated in 1875. Anita has always been a great community, from the early days to the present, the people here abouts are committed to our community and to our quality of life. |

| Anita lives up to it's motto, we are a whale of a town! We have a great public library and community center, lovely city parks and a recreational trail, an 18 hole golf course, and a beautiful lake and state park with campgrounds and great fishing just 1 mile south of town. We have several annual events that are family orientated and a lot of fun. We have weekly bingo and auctions year round, and Farmer's Market spring to fall. | ![]() |
